What Should I Wear?
What are you most comfortable in? We don’t have a dress code here at Morehead – you’ll see other people wearing suits, dresses, shorts, flip flops, and business casual attire. Even our pastor wears a wide range of clothes from casual to more formal.
What About My Children?
A nursery for infants and toddlers is staffed by trained childcare professionals during all Sunday morning activities. Your child will have a safe and enjoyable time at Morehead. Children are welcome in all worship services; the nursery is provided for the convenience of those who wish to use it.
When you arrive and enter the building, you’ll be greeted warmly. You’ll receive a bulletin, which outlines the worship service and has announcements of things happening in the life of the congregation.
You are free to sit wherever you like.
Most worship services will include music, a time of greeting other worshipers, prayers, an offering, Bible readings, and a message from our pastor. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you’d like. Above all, we hope you experience the presence of Jesus Christ in worship.
Will You Ask Me For Money?
No. We do receive an offering of monetary gifts in each worship gathering to support the work and ministry of the church; however, if you are a guest, we hope you will enjoy worship as a gift without feeling any obligation to make a financial contribution. Each of our members took a vow to support the church and are striving to give 10% of their income to God through the church (tithing). Please, get to know us before you decide to contribute financially.
Can I Receive Communion?
Yes. We believe Communion is a meal that expresses the infinite mystery of God’s grace in a way we can see, touch, and taste. We practice an open table, meaning Communion is open to ALL people, including children. You do not have to be a member of Morehead United Methodist Church, or any church, for that matter, to be welcomed at Communion.
I have another question:
